Good Morning to all of our CAWS participants and supporters.
Keeping up with the COVID rules and requirements for workers and participants has been difficult over the past week or so. Here is an attempt to bring you a simplified list of what rules apply to us.

All staff at CAWS are required to:
1. Stay away from work if they have any signs or symptoms of COVID no matter how mild, get tested and stay in isolation at home until they receive a negative result.
2. Wear a mask at all times when working with a participant
3.Work at home if you usually work within one of our office locations. This includes management, administration, support coordinators, advocates and together we can coordinator.
All Disability workers who live or work in an area of concern must:
1. Have had at least one dose of a COVID Vaccine or
2. Have evidence of an appointment to have the vaccine before 19th September or
3. Have a medical contraindication certificate issued by their doctor. This is a specific form, a letter from a doctor is not sufficient.
If you are concerned that a worker coming to your home does not meet these requirements please give us a call on 02 9893 8210 and leave a message for us to call you back so that we can assist you to make sure you ae safe.
From today anyone who DOES NOT live in an area of concern and is FULLY VACCINATED can attend a gathering of up to 5 people for outdoor recreation so long as everyone over 16 years of age that is at the gathering has been fully vaccinated.
Fully vaccinated means that you have had 2 doses of an approved vaccine and have evidence of that with you, or you have a medical contraindication certificate issued to you by a doctor. This is a specific form, a letter from your doctor is not sufficient.
This means that if you live outside of an area of concern you and your worker could meet with a friend who also lives outside of an area of concern and lives in the same LGA or less than 5km from where you meet, can get together for a picnic lunch but you cannot all travel in the car together to get there. If you think this is an option for you talk to your support worker and they will check that you all meet the rules.
If you live in the areas of concern (Bayside, Blacktown, Burwood, Campbelltown, Canterbury/Bankstowns, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool, Parramatta, Strathfield and some suburbs of Penrith)the restrictions HAVE NOT CHANGED.
| CAWS would like to encourage anyone who hasn't yet had the vaccine to get vaccinated. This is going to give you the best protection from the virus and will allow you some freedoms that unvaccinated people will not be given once NSW reaches 70% fully vaccinated.

A COVID-19 vaccine will help to protect you, your family and people you care for. If you haven’t had yours yet, don’t delay. Book in for your vaccination today. As you may be aware, all participants aged 12 and over and all carers, over 16 years old, of NDIS participants are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. NDIS participants may also be eligible for additional support to attend an offsite vaccine appointment. Appointments are now available.
