CAWS is always looking for new volunteers for our various programs and to serve on our Board.
BOARD MEMBERS
We are seeking interested volunteer Board members with skills and capacity to contribute to the development of our not-for-profit community organisation and its services as it grows and expands.
We require interested people, skilled professionals with commitment to good governance who possess one or more of the following skills.
Being a Board Member at CAWS involves a commitment of approximately one meeting per month at Lalor Park with possible additional time for committee(s). Positions on the committees exclusively is also an option for those interested, as a co-opted member.
Further information can be obtained by contacting the Chairperson of the Board, Angie Hatchman on 0449 920 010 or email angiehatis@gmail.com
COMMUNITY PROGRAM
We have volunteers who help out in our community program distributing food hampers and other donations, cooking, gardening and serving tea and coffee. We also have volunteers who help out with our art and craft group. If you have a particular skill you would like to share we would love to hear from you.
TOGETHER WE CAN
Together We Can volunteers are matched with a group of 2 to 4 people with disabilities for social support. Mentor people who are socially isolated so that they can develop skills in independence and communication and make new friends. This is a highly rewarding role that may be challenging but is well supported and lots of fun!
CITIZEN ADVOCACY
Our Citizen Advocates are matched to an individual with intellectual disabilities who needs an advocate to help them with an issue that is causing them concern in their lives.
ADMINISTRATION
Additional help in the office is always needed, if you have some office skills and would like to help.
Please contact Heidi on hhodder@caws.com.au or to find out more about any of our volunteering opportunities in our programs.
